Past becomes present: Admiral becomes official MASL 3 uniform supplier

TAMPA, Florida -- There is a moment in every sport when its story folds back on itself, when the name that defined a generation steps back onto the field and picks up where it left off. For indoor soccer in the United States, that moment is now.

Today, Admiral Sports has announced a landmark league sponsorship with the Major Arena Soccer League 3 and Major Arena Soccer League Women as the official kit and apparel supplier to the two leagues. The partnership also extends to the US Mini Football National teams, both men and women, as they prepare for the WMF World Cups.

Admiral is not new to this world. It built it. Admiral kitted the original Major Indoor Soccer League — from the New York Cosmos to the Chicago Sting – as indoor soccer's American story began in earnest in the late 1970s. Exhibition matches featuring top international clubs introduced the game to U.S. audiences, and by the early 1980s it had a league of its own: the Major Indoor Soccer League. Admiral was there from the start, not as a sponsor, but as the kit maker.

The New York Cosmos, Chicago Sting, Philadelphia Fury, Detroit Express, Cleveland Force, Denver Avalanche, Minnesota Strikers and St. Louis Steamers all played indoors in that era, and they all wore Admiral.

That chapter of American soccer history belongs to Admiral as much as it does to any club or city. The uniforms Admiral produced for those teams became the visual language of the sport. Bold, athletic, immediately recognizable. When the league folded, Admiral's relationship with indoor soccer went quiet, but it never went away.

Today, MASL 3 and MASL W will feature over 50 teams, but all with a shared vision for a new time. Most recently,m the MASL 2 Rochester Lancers were among the first clubs to wear Admiral in the new era.

“Admiral Sports brings a pedigree to this partnership that no other brand can match. They built the look of American indoor soccer once before, and we are proud to have them back as part of the MASL 3 and MASL W family. This is the right partner at the right time, for our clubs, our players, and the growth of the league,” noted MASL 3 Deputy Commissioner Brian Cushing.

The partnership extends Admiral's reach onto the international stage. As part of the deal, Admiral will supply the US Mini Football National teams with all their kits and merchandise.

The World Mini football Federation (WMF) Women's World Cup is set for this October in Croatia. The United States is the two time defending champions. Qualifying events are currently underway as well for the men's World Cup which will be held in 2027.

“Admiral has always believed the most meaningful partnerships span the full width of the game, from development leagues to national teams, from training tops to tournament kits. This is that belief made real,” noted Paul Hamburger, owner of Admiral Sports. ““We are delighted to partner with the MASL3 and MASL W, and re-establish Admiral as the leading brand in US indoor soccer. We will be designing unique merchandise for every team and providing online ordering so fans can wear their colors, support their team, and feel part of the indoor soccer league.”

MASL 3 and MASL W President Josh Auden, himself a team owner in Youngstown, recalled the sport's great history in northwest Ohio, starting with the Cleveland Force.

“Admiral Sports has always understood indoor soccer because it helped invent the look of it. The clubs are different now with new cities, new rosters, and a new generation of players who grew up watching the game their predecessors built,” Auden noted. “But the need is the same: quality kits, distinctive designs, a brand that takes the sport seriously. With this partnership, Admiral does not just return to indoor soccer. It reasserts what it always was, the sport's original outfitter, back where it belongs.”
