Cushing to serve as commissioner for Major Arena Soccer League 3

WARREN, OHIO — Major Arena Soccer League 3 and Major Arena Soccer League W today announced the appointment of Brian Cushing as Commissioner of MASL 3 and MASL W for the 2026–2027 season, following two years of service as Deputy Commissioner.

“Brian has been an incredibly valuable member of the MASL 3 and MASL W family, and the time, energy, and commitment he has given to this league has not gone unnoticed,” said Joshua Auden, President of MASL 3 and MASL W. “He has earned this role through consistent leadership and a clear commitment to raising the standard across MASL 3 and MASL W. He understands the game, he understands club operations, and he understands what our members need. As we continue to build something special — something built to last — Brian will help ensure we stay organized, accountable, and aligned on expectations for the 2026–2027 season. I’m grateful to have him in this role and excited for what’s ahead.”

Cushing, a long-time stalwart on the field with the Wichita Wings, said he is excited to take on an even bigger role.

“I look forward to growing the game, supporting the players and teams, and building a community of dedicated and passionate owners, coaches and fans,” said Cushing.

Cushing was a defensive standout for the Wichita Wings and Wichita B52’s, competing across the PASL, MASL, and NPSL. He appeared in 100 games, scoring 21 goals and adding eight assists, while also recording 34 blocks. He dressed for 11 playoff games —all with the Wings in the NPSL— adding two goals and one assist. Cushing also played two seasons in the Eastern Indoor Soccer League for Biloxi and Lafayette.

Off the field, Cushing has remained deeply involved in the sport. In 2005, he joined Let’s Play Sports, a national operator of indoor soccer facilities with locations in Colorado, Texas, Utah, Idaho, Kansas, Oklahoma, California, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Since 2013, he has served as a regional manager, with responsibilities for indoor soccer facilities in three states.

MASL W will kick off its third season of play, and MASL 3 will start it's eighth season of action, later this fall.
