MASL 3 add Cleveland Samba for 2024-25

Major Arena Soccer League 3 is proud to announce the addition of Cleveland Samba Soccer Club. The team will begin play in the 2024-25 MASL 3 season.

Owned and operated by Reno Distefano, Cleveland Samba have been around for over three decades. While competing in the North Coast Soccer League Samba won league titles in 1993-1995. Reformed in 2001 the club expanded its offerings by forming a youth club along with a return of its top adult side.

Expectations are high for the new club who have aspirations of moving up the MASL development ladder.

"I think we're going to be very competitive," said Distefano. "We've got a very strong group of individuals as players."

Returning to the indoor soccer-rich history of Cleveland was a factor for both the Samba and Major Arena Soccer League.

"We are thrilled to be in Cleveland with a solid ownership group," commented MASL 3 Commissioner Chris Economides. "This will bring our league to eight teams as well as growing our footprint into the Great Lakes region."

Players interested in playing for the Samba in 2024-25 may contact the team through their team website https://www.clevelandsamba.com/contact
