MASL 3 weekend recap: Spartans, Fire, NoVA victorious
Three games were contested last weekend in Major Arena Soccer League 3 which resulted in three different winners. Philadelphia Spartans, Fredericksburg Fire and NoVA FC each were victorious which tightened the standings among the top four.
In the Friday matchup Philadelphia Spartans (3-3-0) evened their record with a 12-7 win against the Baltimore Kings. Kevin Flavin led all scoring with four goals and a pair of assists. Jason Rocha scored twice along with two assists helping the home side to victory.
Fredericksburg Fire (5-3-0) got a much-needed victory on Saturday 12-7 over the winless Virginia Marauders. The win snapped a three-game slide that has the Fire now in second place.
Newly signed Sir John Perkins scored a hat trick in his Fire debut while assisting on another goal. Uriah Bentick returned to action scoring a pair along with one assist while Liam Emson scored twice. Kevin Zhu added a goal and three assists for the winners.

Chance Holland (three goals) and Collin Edson (two goals) led the Marauders offense.
Baltimore Kings (3-4-0) hosted the first place NoVA FC (5-1-0) on Sunday with NoVA taking a convincing victory 13-4. Five goals by JP Ayolmbong powered the visitors offense with Ahmed Ismail, Johnathan Rivera and Ahmed Sheta each adding a pair. David Boretti scored twice for the Kings in defeat.
