Cincy's Andrew Nephew, Muskegon's Travis Schmid are Week 12 Players of the Week

TAMPA, Florida -- Two players who have helped their team's to perfect 5-0 starts -- and in the same division no less -- have been selected as the Major Arena Soccer League 3 Offensive and Goalkeeper Players of the Week for Week 12.

Cincinnati Swerve forward Andrew Nephew and Muskegon's Travis Schmid both led their respective team to wins this past weekend, with both teams on a collision course for division showdown games February 27 in Muskegon and March 14 in Cincinnati.

Nephew has helped Cincinnati to a perfect 5-0 start in the Great Lakes North division, and had a six-point game over the weekend against a long time Swerve foe in Detroit Waza Flo. Nephew, a homegrown talent who played his high school soccer at Landmark Christian, scored four goals and added two assists in his team's triumph.

Schmid also has helped his team open the 2025-26 campaign with five straight wins, allowing just four goals to the Kalamazoo United at Trinity Health Arena in Muskegon this past weekend. He has shared time in goal with teammate Jake Lofgren, who has one win, while Schmid has picked up two W's. He was also a second round pick of the MASL Milwaukee Wave following the league's 2024-25 player combine.
