NoVA FC looks to stay unbeaten, Spartans try to keep pace this weekend

The battle for top spot in the Eastern Division of Major Arena Soccer League 3 will heat up again this weekend, especially in Winchester, Virginia, where Northern Virginia FC will host the Baltimore Kings tonight.

NOVA comes into the game with a perfect mark of 4-0 -- the only team in M3 this year with a perfect mark so far -- and will look to stay undefeated as they hit the halfway mark ini their season. Game time will be 5:45 p.m. EST.

The Kings come in at 2-3, and fresh off having one of their stars sign a contract with the Major Arena Soccer League Baltimore Blast. Alex Shipley made his debut for the Blast in a 9-3 win over the Harrisburg Heat Friday night in Baltimore.

The Kings still have plenty of firepower to unleash tonight, however, in Henry Scott who has 11 goals in four games and Josh Danza who has 11 assists in five games.

NOVA is fresh off an 8-4 win over the Fredericksburg Fire last weekend, getting two goals each from Jaime Quintanilla, KJ Nadeau and  JP Ayolmbong in the triumph.  The Fire got two goals from York College product Keith Witherell.

Speaking of the Fire (2-3), they will be back in Fredericksburg tonight for an 7 p.m. EST start against the Philadelphia Spartans, currently in second place in the East at 3-1.

The midwest has a pair of games on tap at Hartman Arena as Wichita FC (1-3) hosts in-state rival Sunflower State FC in games Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday's start is at 7:30 p.m. CST and Sunday's kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. CST.
