Playoff scramble for M3 East continues in Philly, Federick on Sunday

TAMPA, Fla. -- The jockeying for position for the Major Arena Soccer League 3 post-season will continue in Philadelphia and Frederick, Virginia this Sunday as five teams look for four playoff spots at the end of the 10-game regular season.

Northern Virginia FC has already secured a spot in the semi-finals, while all the other teams in the division remain alive for the playoffs.

The league is working on a special announcement for the first-round of the playoffs that will help bring a spotlight to the eastern teams in their first season on play.

Saturday, Skyline City in Frederick will host the Baltimore Kings, who recently had three more players signed to contracts with the Major Arena Soccer League Baltimore Blast this year. Alex Shipley dressed for the iconic indoor soccer franchise in their recent win over Harrisburg. Kickoff at the Frederick Indoor Sports Center is at 6 p.m.

Sunday's other matchup sees the Philadelphia Spartans hosting the Fredericksburg Fire in an 8:45 p.m. start. Philly comes in at 3-2 and Fredericksburg at 3-3 in a potential showdown for a higher playoff seed. The game is played at the XL Sports Complex in Hatfield.
